Correspondent’s Message

Mr. A. Subramaniam, M.Com.

Dear Prospective Teachers, Parents, Well-wishers, Faculty, Administrative Staff, and Alumni,
It is my privilege to greet you on behalf of Vivekananda Vidyalaya College of Education. We firmly believe that excellence in education is achieved when it is student-centered and delivered with scientific and creative teaching approaches by professors who not only love their subjects but also care deeply for their students. Just as diamonds need polishing to shine, students too require nurturing from dedicated teachers to become the best versions of themselves. Effective and devoted teachers are the foundation of quality education.

With this philosophy in mind, we continuously strive to bring together exceptional faculty and robust infrastructure, which we consider the backbone of any successful institution. At Vivekananda Vidyalaya College of Education, we take pride in our state-of-the-art facilities. Our well-furnished campus, designed with both aesthetics and functionality, serves as a hallmark of our institution’s commitment to quality education. Our campus houses psychology, language, and technology labs, all equipped with internet connectivity for online learning, a science lab, a well-stocked library, a seminar hall, and an art room — all designed to foster the holistic development of our students.

Reach out to every student in your classroom so they feel your presence and support. Acknowledge their efforts when they excel in their ideas or actions, and provide guidance when they face challenges. Academically, break down complex concepts into simple, understandable examples and encourage students to think critically. By using effective questioning and assignments, inspire them to explore beyond the obvious.

Founded in 2007, our college is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). With an intake of 100 students each year, we are dedicated to shaping the next generation of educators who will contribute to society with knowledge and values.

Our faculty forms the core of this institution’s excellence. Comprising highly qualified and efficient staff, they are the true embodiment of dedication and passion. Each staff member exhibits a unique blend of intellect and compassion, contributing to the success of our students and the overall prestige of the college. Their philosophy of “do the best, leave the rest” is reflected in their tireless efforts to nurture and guide the students in their journey towards becoming effective educators.

Vivekananda Vidyalaya College of Education is more than just a college; it is a place where future educators are molded into individuals who, alongside their intellectual growth, shine with the radiance of strong values. We invite you to become a part of the Vivekananda Vidyalaya family and experience firsthand the worth of our words. We welcome you with open arms and open hearts, ready to support you in your pursuit of educational excellence.

Secretary's Message

Mr. S. Senthil Kumar, B.E., M.M.M., M.S.

Dear Prospective Teachers, Parents, Well-wishers, Faculty, Administrative Staff, and Alumni,
I wish you a great day and am delighted to connect with you through this portal of our institution. As you embark on the journey of becoming an effective teacher in society, I want to share with you a valuable thought from the famous 19th-century English writer, John Ruskin: “Education does not mean teaching people what they do not know; it means teaching them to behave as they do not behave.” Education is not just about learning letters and numbers; it is about shaping individuals morally, physically, and spiritually through continuous effort, kindness, and example.

Teaching, in its essence, is a form of communication — a meeting and merging of minds. In my view, teaching is "reaching" — reaching students in every possible way: academically, socially, spiritually, culturally, economically, physically, and emotionally. It is the teacher's responsibility to make every student feel supported, appreciated, and empowered in these areas.

Culturally, teachers should embrace and accommodate the diverse backgrounds of their students. Recognizing and respecting their community's habits, thinking, and lifestyle will elevate their sense of self-esteem and belonging. Socially, treat each student as a human being, without regard to their color, caste, creed, economic status, or language. Emotionally, a teacher must understand and accept their students’ feelings, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported amidst a diverse group of peers.

To sum up this discussion into three key principles for teachers in today’s world: *Beware, *Become, and *Befriend. These three words encapsulate the everyday mission of a model teacher. Be aware of your students’ needs, become the teacher they can look up to, and befriend them by building trust and understanding.

Let us work together to shape a brighter, more inclusive future through education.

Principal's Message

Dr. K. Gajendiran, M.A., M.Ed., M.Phil. (Education), Ph.D. (Education), DCM

Dear Prospective Teachers, Parents, Well-wishers, Faculty, Administrative Staff, and Alumni,
Teachers are the true nation builders, shaping the future of our society by instilling spiritual, moral, and social values in the minds of young learners. As facilitators of social transformation, teachers play a pivotal role in developing nationalism, internationalism, and preparing responsible citizens who are creative, self-driven, and equipped with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills. Additionally, teachers must foster a high emotional and spiritual quotient in students. At Vivekananda Vidyalaya College of Education, we are committed to equipping prospective teachers with the right knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to fulfill this important role.

Our institution not only focuses on developing the necessary competencies for teaching but also encourages creativity, innovation, and a passion for life-long learning. We strive to cultivate a spirit of reaching the unreached and making a meaningful difference in society.

In today’s rapidly changing global environment, the education sector demands the highest priority. Our institution, backed by the experience and dedication of the Society of Jesus in education and social service, is focused on empowering the underprivileged. At Vivekananda Vidyalaya College of Education (VVCOE), we prepare teachers for the 21st century, who can contribute to society with a balanced mind and a commitment to selfless service, particularly towards the underprivileged.

Our vision is to prepare educators who are not only skilled in teaching but also dedicated to serving the community with integrity and compassion.
